With The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe cast

Natasha had several parts in the acclaimed ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe‘ musical in Summer 2015 – directed by the talented young director Alex Jackson. This was a collaboration between local theatre groups Honiton Pantomime Society and the Honiton Players in the form of the Honiton Community Theatre Company.

Director Alex Jackson Director says:

“Natasha is a committed and hardworking cast member who listens well to direction and is always friendly and polite which is a real asset to the cast of the show. I really hope she’ll join us for more productions in the future and look forward to seeing her improve further as she grows up.”

Keen learner

On the keyboard

Natasha’s Piano teacher is the fabulous Emily Miller – a talented local multi-musician herself – see Emily says:

Natasha is learning the piano with myself, she is a very keen learner and works really hard to achieve good goals. I have only taught her for a few months and have been amazed at her progress, she passed her grade 1 ABRSM piano exam and I am very proud of her achievements, she is a joy to teach.”

“The piano keys are black and white but they sound like a million colours in your mind”
Maria Cristina Mena, The Collected Stories of Maria Cristina Mena

“A delightful student”

Natasha was in the school production of Oh what a lovely war in 2014

Natasha is 13 and has just started Year 9 and her GCSE’s including drama and music. She has been singing with the TVG – the School Choir for two years. Chris Carter – Head of Music at Honiton Community College says:
“Natasha is a very promising singer with a very pure singing tone. She is a reliable member of singing groups at college and makes a useful contribution to musical productions. She has sung as a soloist in our annual carol service and is keen enough to attend after school lessons in order to fit Music GCSE onto her timetable. A delightful student.”

Sing it louder…

Natasha has been singing with the outstanding Devon County Junior Choir (DCJC) for five years. Rachel Smith conducts the DCJC choir, is Assistant Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral School and also finds time (I don’t know how!) to direct the National Children’s Choir and is Musical director of RMB Chivenor Military Wives’ Choir. Rachel says:
“Natasha’s singing career began when she joined the Devon County Choir aged 8. The choir, which draws children from all over Devon, gave her a taste of performing in large venues such as Exeter Cathedral and Exeter University, together with the beginning of the development of her vocal technique and the foundations of good choral discipline. As an extremely loyal member, Natasha was able to participate in many high profile concerts and at the age of 13, she graduated to Schola Exe, the Devon County Senior Girls’ Choir. The high quality of singing of the choir further enhanced Natasha’s vocal studies and the choir is delighted that Natasha has joined the Italia Conti Drama School in her pursuit of a career in the performing arts.”
